it's very obvious that this performance is playback all the way, but I don't think it's so strange that Elias sings as well. Elias do sing on a number of her songs on stage, and besides, I've heard Maria introduce this song as a tribute to Elias (namely, she said that she always wondered what happened to those kids who were the cool ones in school, if they were still cool when they became adults, and she said that although Elias wasn't the coolest kid in school, he is doing mighty fine now ).

I guess you misunderstood me or are you talking about the band-thing? The 2nd vocal is by a woman you will see several times when she sings 'her' part.

Stefan; no, I didn't misunderstand you. I just pointed out that I don't think it is so weird that Elias does backing vocals on some of Maria's songs while they are on stage - that is just what he does. I've heard her introduce "All This Time" as a tribute to him as well (which was what I tried to explain in my reply above). by saying I've heard her introduce this song as if it was about him, I don't mean that I heard her introduce her song before the performance on Kuschelrock, but on a concert.

and yes, I know that the 2nd vocal is by that woman standing behind them all on the stage. I don't much like it, though, but I guess that is because I've always heard Maria sing the entire song herself.

I've noticed that in Germany Maria seems to sing "All This Time" exactly the same way it's sung on the record, and that in Holland, she makes all her live performances very different from how they are on the record. that is just my opinion, though. I think I prefer to listen to those artists who can make their songs into something else in their performances, and not always having to sing the songs exactly the way they have been recorded.

Yes I like it too when artists are sometimes a little bit more creative on stage. It's daring, it shows that the artists is not scared of doing something different and of course it's fun to hear people sing along with the musician while he/she's doing something different and you hear a 'wrong' audience One of the best mistakes made by audiences is with Just Hold Me.
