I like this. I do. It's a great departure from her earlier stuff which I can't say that I'm a huge fan of. The story being told is clear (yeah, despite it being blurry) and the imagery completely hits the nail on the head. She's growing up and I think this video was a great stab at taking a chance on something new to express more than just commercial popularity. Like what the heck, do you want her to ride around on a bike and sing about how's she's in love? When you're in love you're consumed and even the smallest details mean so much.

For people that don't like it, well, ok. But jeezs, to some credit she's also a Norwegian artist and I hate saying this but many artists and videos produced in Norway don't live up to any potential. For some reason people in Norway are excited about Grandiosa uten paprika (COME ON NOW!) and would rather download the free ringtone than take a chance on something more artistic that makes you think. Personally it reminds me of work by Loren Haynes and that's just fine by me.

I think the story she is telling would be more clear if the camera wasn't moving (zooming in zooming out) all the time, and the flashing images and collors, Vague closeups from maria and some person were not there. You might like that about the video and it is a cool style but it makes me sick while watching. You have to like that style otherwise it's not cool.

What has a bike to do with being in love? the video story is fine this way, except that i'm not seing much of it because it's so blurry all the time.. and that's exactly what i miss in it. ( a clear video)

I finally saw it! lol

it feels like how you see the world when your spinning around (trying not to look down but you did, and you fell..) and have red glasses on (instead of pink (A) ) :) like the whole world revolves around them... I like it I like the chaos... it feels like this:

Quote:
Oh I'm in love
again, again
And you can call me tomorrow my friend
Yes, you may kiss me
again and again
I'll hold on tight

I know I'm stupid to do this but at least I did it! I've made 65 screenshots of the video :)

http://mariamenaforum.com/im_in_love/ (don't dare to copy this screenshots and publishing / uploading it on your own site without doing the work yourself)

Now I even think that this is really a cheap production. Why? Because there are 'pictures' from things which are totally different compared to the clip. Because I think the director repeated some parts again but in different colors and styles. And because it's just all the same. I cannot see a story in it. Just no story. The only things what you in my opinion can see as a story is that Maria is kissing when she sings 'You may kiss me again and again', and when she sings 'I'll hold you tight' you'll see Maria hugging the guy. No. I don't really like the whole video. I'm sorry. :)

Muhahaha 8) I guess I should be careful not to mention wooden shoes or windmills either. You know I love you.

I believe a previous post mentioned the word chaos. This is exactly what love is like. When you're in love everything's a blur and you can barely remember what you said two minutes ago. Everything is consumed by this person and what you feel for them. I still think the story is clear because instead of having to watch some boring low-production "literal" video about a couple, you get to see Maria expressing herself and these blurry flashes could be an interpretation of what she is/was feeling. Your head spins, nothing's in focus except for those moments and details that matter, and I still think it's great to see her growing up like this.

I like the video!

ps: Thanks for the screen caps, Stefan!

I've uploaded the High Quality version of the video on YouTube now too. I deleted the old one.

sorry, but i am probably the only one liking this. i love how the images are blurry sometimes and the colors in it.. and just everything. it doesnt make the song to tacky, and that is a good thing. i expected an over the top love story, thank god it's not. i love how it's being kept very artistic , nice one miss mena!

Second that! It is not her best but absolutely better than some lame love story..

I was searching on vimeo just now,
and I found "I'm In Love" here: http://www.vimeo.com/2996060

the text that follows it says: "A new video by Raphael Mazzucco. Also shot and edited by Jeth Weinrich". interesting piece of information :)

There is one clear shot of Maria (the first stanza, she starts "He allegedly..") then it goes into artistic mode. I feel that the original concept for the video was probably half and half - a bit of her story-telling in a clearer, defined frame, and the other the story playing out with all the colors of love flittering about. It's weird that they literally only have one 2 sec segment of Maria against a black background in clear sight while the rest isn't. So something was probably changed in editing that altered the concept of the video a little bit. Although it is a bit artistic, it's still hard to tell what is going on in some of the shots because there are so many translucent overlaid frames. If my idea serves me correctly, I think it would have been better had the director gone with the original concept.
